Professional Biography
Attorney DeVore excelled academically in both his undergraduate career (B.S. History) and while pursuing post-graduate studies in his legal education (J.D.) at the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. DeVore received honors and was the recipient of several scholarships for exemplary academic achievement including the Presidential Scholarship for his undergraduate career and a full, Dean's Scholarship, for the entirety of his legal education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. DeVore was an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Similarly, advanced course-work and practical knowledge geared towards estate planning, contract law, & elder law areas of study were pursued in earnest.
Following graduation from law school, Mr. DeVore was determined to return to his hometown area of Somerset County to establish practice. Gaining valuable experience from several local firms and mentor-ships with attorneys across the area, and in nearby West Virginia, Mr. DeVore was admitted to practice law in October of 2017. Since that time, a diverse practice supporting the legal needs of friends and neighbors in rural western Pennsylvania has met with great success and a rewarding career. Although chiefly focused on transactional matters in the fields of estate planning and real estate transactions, Mr. DeVore has accommodated diverse client needs and interests in the pursuit of personal injury matters and general law practice. As the pandemic upended life for so many people in 2020, Mr. DeVore was determined, also, to find new ways to connect with clients and explore the new technologies open to attorneys. With this new mission and drive to master these new technologies and opportunities open to legal practitioners, Mr. DeVore has pursued several consultancies and contract arrangements with larger legal firms, on a remote basis. With a valuable knowledge base now gained from work in the exciting and emerging fields of Data Security and Data Breach Analysis, a new level of competence and familiarity with remote options for the practice of law and the service of clients has been added to his previous solo practice. Perhaps, most importantly, too, such experience also led Mr. DeVore towards making the connection to join the team at Hargrove, themselves pioneers in the field of using new technologies to meet the needs of clients in the 21st century. As such, Mr. DeVore joins the team at Hargrove, already a firm believer in the philosophy that underpins so much of their existing work to bring modern methods and technology to bear in the field of estate planning.
Beyond his legal career, Mr. DeVore is also a small business owner, together with his wife Autumn DeVore. While in law school, the pair grew their small business into a successful LLC, serving customers across the world and shipping to 6 continents with tens of thousands of satisfied customers. As a small business owner, Attorney DeVore can bring unique insights into the sometimes-unanticipated ways that small business ownership affects much in the field of estate planning and more.
Altogether, this history of self-discipline and motivation compliments ample career and technical experience, all of which coalesce to bring real-world application of principles to bear in a professional setting. A drive and history to master further technological aptitude, familiarity with remote work and protocols, and a wide base of technical proficiency cultivates success and professional competence that better serves client needs.
